Jesua an the Lame Man
Mark 2:1-12

Hello boys and girls. I am not called by name in the Bible, but identified only as the lame man that was forgiven and healed by Jesus.

Let me tell you my story……

I had been paralyzed as long as I could remember, could not even walk. The news of Jesus healing the sick had been heard throughout the area where I lived. We knew that he was coming to Capernaum. I contacted some of my friends about this exciting event and four of them agreed to carry me to hear Jesus.

Well, let me tell you that just about everyone in the city were there when we arrived. The building was completely filled and we could not even get near the door. We were desperate to see Jesus.

In my time the buildings were made of stone and there were stairways outside leading to the roof. The roofs were flat and made of a mixture of straw and mud.

Someone in our group said, "Let's take him up the stairs to the roof, cut a hole in the roof and let him down through the hole."

So that's what they did, lowering me on my mat down through the hole near where Jesus stood.

When Jesus saw our faith and determination, he said to me, "Son, you sins are forgiven." I was filled with joy and excitement.

Some teachers of the law were sitting nearby. I could tell by the expressions on their faces that they were upset about the things Jesus said to me.

Jesus apparently knew their thoughts and asked them, "Why do you think this is blasphemy and that God alone can forgive sins?"

Then he said, "Which is easier, to say to this man, you sins are forgiven," or to say, "Get up, take your mat and walk? He wanted them to know that He had authority on earth to forgive sins."

Then Jesus said to me, "I tell, you, get up, take your mat and go home." So, I stood up and walked out in full view of all the people. I could hardly believe I was able to walk. It was truly a miracle!

All the people were amazed and praised God saying, "We have never seen anything like this." If you want to read about me, go to Mark 2. Now I would like to ask you some questions about my story.
